Why do Music Theater with us at Music Pillars?
That is an excellent question - and here are some excellent (well, we hope you’ll think they are) answers:
Participating in Theater is about much more than just being on stage…its about learning and developing life skills like becoming an effective communicator, conveying confidence, learning to support others when they are scared, facing/overcoming fears, and SO MUCH MORE!
LIFE SKILLS
Believe it or not, joining Musical Theater as a youth is more about developing life skills than anything else. Here are just a few of the things that we have seen with our own students.
going from a “don’t look at me” body projection/non verbal communication to a confident, beautiful, physical stance that projects confidence and engagement not just on stage but off stage in real life.
becoming much quicker “on your feet” in thinking, conversing, and engaging people through dialogue
learning how to use inflection and variation in tempo of speech, and therefore becoming far more interesting and engaging to listen to (both on and off stage).
